The Fool’s Journey

I have long felt a call to find a circle, a coven, a community of like-minded witches – those that honor the old ways while utilizing the convenience of the new. I explain my magick by way of science, and that tends to shock some practitioners – but my people were out there, I knew it, and I was determined to find them.

Last summer, after lamenting at a Red Tent that I just couldn’t find the circle I was looking for… couldn’t find the teacher I desired… a friend laid down some Truth. “Maybe that’s because you haven’t created that space yet,” she said. “You explain things so simply and beautifully. You haven’t found the right teacher yet because it’s your turn to BE the teacher.”

I didn’t jump on that right away, but the idea stewed I need my mind, while various friends reached out to me privately with questions, looking for guidance. I ended up starting a Facebook group as a communal way to answer the questions I was getting, but it grew into so, so much more.

In that group, you will find witches, pagans, majicians, and other magickal practitioners from all walks of life, all stages in their practice, and all different traditions. Our goal is to learn, share, grow, and embrace the magick and the change. We know Magick is energy. We know its all around us. We all have the ability, and its high time we take back the word Witch and wear it with pride.

As much as I am loving and flourishing in that group, I started craving a place to share that could be a resource for all, not just a private community. Communities, groups, circles – they are wonderful for discussion and education from peers. But I’m a writer at heart, and sometimes I have words to share that don’t fit within the confines of a communal circle.

Its been years since I kept a blog, a personal place that didn’t require work or boosted SEO or was part of a marketing plan. My partner keeps telling me to write a book – well, I have no idea what I would write about, but a blog is a good first step.

This is a personal place to be me, to extoll the magickal virtues I have learned and developed over the years. Please say hi by leaving a comment, sending an email, or finding me on Facebook – I’d love to make new magickal friends. And if anything I write touches or helps you in any way, please let me know. Confirmation that I’m putting good back into the world truly feeds my soul.

  1. All of this is fantastic, but my personal favorite part: “Magick is all around us – but most importantly, magick is WITHIN us.”

    • Thank you! I find a lot of people get caught up in having the cool tools, outfits, etc, and we need to remember that we have the power, we give those things power. I’m glad you liked it!
